n SHAMOKIN - Reuben Henry, 24, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, waived to court Tuesday charges of aggravated assault and simple assault and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 20 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
Henry was charged by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington with punching Unit Manager Thomas Williams in the head and hand on Jan. 20 at the prison.
At his arraignment, Henry can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - Ismael Figueroa, 24, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was held for court Tuesday on a charge of aggravated harassment by a prisoner by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.
The charge was filed by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington.
Figueroa is accused of spitting saliva that struck Correctional Officer Shannon Piepszowski in the face on Oct. 25 at the prison.
Figueroa was ordered by Gembic to appear for arraignment June 20 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - Curtis Hann, 27, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was held for court Tuesday on two counts of aggravated harassment by a prisoner by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.
The charges were filed by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington.
Hann is accused of spitting saliva at Correctional Officers Nathan Lynn and Erik Weigle on March 19 at the prison. Police said the saliva struck Lynn on the right side of his face and also landed on his uniform shirt, and struck Weigle on the right side of his face and right forearm.
Hann was ordered by Gembic to appear for arraignment June 20 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
