SHAMOKIN - The Shamokin-Coal Township Early Bird Car Cruise and Show is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
There is no fee to enter, but participants and those who attend are asked to bring canned goods for donation to the Salvation Army and Manna for the Many food banks, which serve the Shamokin and Coal Township areas.
Organizer Skip Rabuck noted a great turnout at last year's cruise, which benefitted the same organizations, and notes that this is an informal "show" intended more for a good cause than for winning vehicles.
That said, the vehicles on display will include some exotics, as well as muscle cars, antique vehicles, street rods, Corvettes, speciality vehicles, classic cars, trucks, four-wheelers and motorcycles.
The cruisers will meet in downtown Shamokin at 5 p.m. where the vehicles will be on display. After everyone has had a good look at them and finished socializing, the cars will then begin the cruise and make their way through town and up to Kulpmont.
