n SHAMOKIN - Leonard Schlagle, 23, of 316 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 27 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
Schlagle was released from Northumberland County Prison on supervised bail and ordered by Gembic to adhere to all drug and alcohol conditions and avoid contact with the victim in the case.
Schlagle was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Edward Purcell with punching Lori Yost in the right side of the face, causing her to suffer two broke nasal cavities and a broken bone in her right cheek. Yost underwent emergency room treatment at Shamokin Area Community Hospital for her injuries and was advised to seek a medical specialist.
Police said the assault occurred at 3:36 a.m. May 14 at 1100 E. Race St., Coal Township.
At his arraignment, Schlagle can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - James Harkins, 35, of 319 E. Sunbury St., Apt. 2B, Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
An additional charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn.
Harkins was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with possessing three pipes used for smoking marijuana and three small bags of marijuana at his apartment on March 7.
n SHAMOKIN - Anthony Reynolds, 18, of 431 Main St., Ranshaw, waived to court Tuesday charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 27 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
Reynolds was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky in connection with a March 31 disturbance at Shamokin Area Middle/High School.
Police said Reynolds picked up a desk and threw it toward school nurse Nancy Troxell, who had to put her arm in front of her face to protect herself. Police said the desk struck Troxell in the arm, causing a bruise. Police said Reynolds caused approximately $150 to two desks inside the classroom.
At his arraignment, Reynolds can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - Richard A. Eckbold Sr., 49, of 919 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of diazepam and failure to fasten a 5-year-old girl in a child booster seat.
Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II filed the charges in connection with a March 26 incident at Water and Anthracite streets.
Eckbold was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 27 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - Richard Fetterolf, 26, of 634 Scott St., Kulpmont, waived to court Tuesday charges of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana involving an April 10 incident in the 400 block of North Liberty Street.
Fetterolf was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Jarrod Scandle with possessing drug paraphernalia and five small bags of marijuana.
Fetterolf was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 27 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n SHAMOKIN - Charles G. Lloyd, 43, of 311 Luke Fidler Road, Coal Township, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, a stop sign violation and a seat belt violation relating to a March 28 traffic stop on Market Street near Chestnut Street.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II.
Lloyd, who is a former state policeman, was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 27 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
