n SHAMOKIN - Gerald C. Miller III, 38, of Klingerstown, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of driving without a license, driving under suspension, possessing a recalled, canceled, suspended, revoked or disqualified driver's license, driving on the wrong side of the road, failing to drive in a single lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, failing to wear a seat belt and hit and run.

The charges were filed by Trooper Mark Adams of state police at Stonington in connection with a hit-and-run accident Feb. 21 in the parking lot at Masser's Restaurant in Shamokin Township.

Miller was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 13 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Bret W. Lebo, 19, of 900 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, and Griffin T. Long, 19, of 524 W. Market St., Trevorton, waived to court Tuesday a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 13 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Lebo and Long were charged by Trooper Dennis Tatar of state police at Stonington in connection with an April 2 incident on state game lands near First and Mountain streets in Trevorton.

At their arraignment, Lebo and Long can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Harry M. Shaffer, 54, of 310 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and driving without a license relating to a March 19 incident along Route 225 near Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The charges were filed by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn.

Shaffer was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 13 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Brandon Franzyshen, 20, of 134 E. Arch St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday charges of selling or furnishing alcohol to minors and underage drinking involving a Jan. 7 incident in the first block of East Commerce Street in Shamokin.

The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Jarrod Scandle.

Franzyshen was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment June 13 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
