MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear at plea court on Monday, July 23, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Katie Labus, 20, of 400 Bay St. Coal Township, waived charges of robbery, burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property during her hearing.
Labus was charged by Ralpho Township Police Officer Chris Dailey for her involvement in a strong-arm robbery at a Mountain Road, Paxinos, home on June 2.
n Joseph T. Schwartz, 48, of 43 W. Sixth St., Mount Carmel, waived charges of aggravated assault by vehicle, driving under the influence, reckless driving and driving on the right side of the roadway during his hearing.
Schwartz was charged by Kulpmont Police Chief Richard L. Wilson III following an accident on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street at 1:41 a.m. Jan. 1.
n Philip M. Boyles, 21, of 1462 Pulaski Ave., waived charges of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night, simple assault, harassment, underage drinking and criminal mischief during his hearing.
Boyles was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman David Donkochik following his involvement in an assault at a South Vine Street residence on May 28.
n Charges of criminal conspiracy to commit theft, two counts of receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking were waived to court by Brandie Reichenbach, 19, of 819 W. Sixth St., Mount Carmel.
Reichenbach is charged in connection with the theft of a vehicle and a license plate from a separate car between May 5 and 6 in the area of North Orange Street. The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman William Adamski.
n Charges of resisting arrest, underage drinking and defiant trespass were dismissed in the case against James P. Kofskie, 19, of 114 E. Melrose St., Marion Heights.
Kofskie was charged by Patrolman Cade Holden of the Kulpmont Police following a March 23 incident on Susquehanna Coal Company property.
n Shauna L. Nahodil, 32, of 410 N. Rock St., Shamokin, waived charges of forgery, identity theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and theft by unlawful taking during her hearing.
Nahodil was charged by Kulpmont Police Chief Richard L. Wilson III after she allegedly forged her mother's name on the checks of a closed account and cashed one for $130 at a Kulpmont bank on June 17, 2011.
n Brandi N. Benjamin, 21, of 119 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, waived charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and two counts of access device fraud during her hearing.
She was charged by Ralpho Township Police Sgt. Chris Kreisher following a purse theft at Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg, on May 6.
n Craig T. Stiner, 41, of 184 Valley View, Orangeville, waived charges of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, failure to drive in a single lane and reckless driving in his hearing.
Ralpho Township Police Sgt. Chris Kreisher filed the charges following a Nov. 16 traffic stop in the area of Route 54 and 487, Elysburg.
