SHAMOKIN - The Northumberland County Council for the Arts Fine Arts Gallery will celebrate the opening of its annual Artists Invitational with a reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today.
Many local artists have participated and created work to go with the theme, "Local Landmarks: My Favorite Places."
Artists will be in attendance and refreshments will be served. The show will run through June 22. The gallery, located in the lower level of the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center, 2 E. Arch St., is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays.
Also, the gallery will be open during the Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26.
