RSVPs needed for reunion
PAXINOS - Members of Ralpho Township High School Alumni Association are reminded to RSVP for the annual reunion banquet to be held this month.
Invitations were delivered by mail to all alumni.
The banquet will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Masser's Restaurant.
Act 80 dismissal Friday for SASD
COAL TOWNSHIP - Friday will be an Act 80 Day early dismissal for Shamokin Area students. The elementary school will dismiss classes at 12:45 p.m. and the middle/high school at 12:18 p.m. K-4 afternoon students will have classes.
Anthracite Idol Saturday
SHAMOKIN - The second annual Anthracite Idol event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center Auditorium. A number of acts will be performing for the audience's votes by donation.
All proceeds benefit the Lower Anthracite Regional Recreation Committee, working to provide recreational activities to the area.
Mount Carmel food distribution set
MOUNT CARMEL - The borough food pantry will have its monthly distribution at the Notary Shop, 215 S. Oak St., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday for those who have already signed up. Participants are asked to bring bags back with them.
School board meets May 15
COAL TOWNSHIP - The next meeting of the Shamokin Area School Board will be Tuesday, May 15, in the middle/high school auditorium.
The work session begins at 7 p.m. immediately followed by the voting meeting. Both sessions are open to the public.
