TREVORTON - A meeting of the Trevorton Patsies was held April 16 at St. Patrick's Church hall.
The meeting opened with the Senior Adult Ministry prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were 32 members present.
Birthday celebrants for April were Mary Ellen Hoffman (treasurer), Stanley Kalejta, Rose Marie Kopyscanski, Irene Zimmerman (lifetime member), Gloria Saladonis and Marian Soubik.
A special thank-you was extended to birthday celebrants and other members, including Tina and Jim Blessing, Joan Brown, Charlotte Faust, Rita Gurba, Frances Kalejta, Gloria Natoli, Lena Shade and Janet Webber, who made a monetary donation to the refreshment/rent fund at the March meeting.
The secretary report and treasurer report were read and approved.
Joyce Koppen, travel committee representative, gave a brief report on upcoming trips.
The next Patsies-sponsored trip is to the American Music Theatre for a Christmas show, Nov. 1, including lunch at Shady Maple. The cost is $68, and information can be obtained by contacting the travel committee.
Trips sponsored by the Trevorton Senior Action Center are to Erhardt's for a "Salute to the Veterans" on May 24, and to Dutch Apple Theatre for "Church Basement Ladies Part II" on Sept. 27. More information can be obtained by contacting the members of the committee.
Hoffman, Stanley Kalejta, Kopyscanski and Joyce Thomas provided refreshments.
Monetary donations were made by Mary Frances Rebuck, Sis Gessner and Soubik.
A sympathy card was sent to Barbara Leah on the passing of her husband, Ernest.
A get-well card was sent to Adele Marinari, and a thank-you card was received from the Gurski family on behalf of the late Anita Gurski, who was a member.
The annual Mother's/Father's Day banquet will be held May 21. It will be catered by Hannah's Restaurant of Trevorton. Cost is $13 per person, which includes an all-you-can-eat turkey dinner with all the trimmings, dessert and coffee. A few appetizers will be served at 1 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up at all meetings and events. Officers appreciate all volunteers.
The next regular meeting is June 18.
June birthday celebrants are reminded to bring a cake or a monetary donation.
A picnic will be held July 16 at Shikellamy Marina.
Winners of the 50/25/25 drawing were Joyce Koppen and Ann Robson.
The meeting was adjourned, followed by bingo and cards.
