PAXINOS - The annual community Easter service at "the old rugged cross" atop the Paxinos Mountain overlooking Route 61 will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. This marks the 51st anniversary of the erection of the cross.
Boy Scout Troop 250, which maintains the cross and seating and landscaping around it, encourages the public to attend. Approximately 281 people attended last year.
Those unsure about how to get to the site can follow John Miller, who will leave Clark's Grove United Methodist Church in Irish Valley at 1:30 p.m. to travel up the mountain.
David Kyllonen, of Dillsburg, will be the guest speaker. Special music will be provided by Ed Heitzman.
Free refreshments will be provided by the Boy Scout troop after the service.
Scouts will have the cross illuminated tonight and Saturday night.
