n SHAMOKIN - Charges of simple assault and harassment filed by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage against Albert F. Scicchitano, 48, and his wife, Samantha Scicchitano, 31, of 1669 Wabash St., Coal Township, were withdrawn Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.

The couple will be cited with a summary offense of harassment in exchange for the withdrawal of the criminal complaint charging them with simple assault and harassment.

The charges were filed in connection with a March 28 disturbance at their residence.

Albert Scicchitano was accused of grabbing his wife's arms and dragging them along pieces of broken glass in a window frame, causing her arms to bleed. His wife was accused of punching her husband in the face and nose, causing injury.

In another case, Albert Scicchitano pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Gembic to pay a $300 fine plus costs. The charge was filed by Coal Township Patrolman Jason Adams in connection with a March 28 incident at his home in which he was allegedly found with three syringes.

n SHAMOKIN - Pamela A. Shaw, 39, of 140 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday a bad check charge and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment in Northumberland County Court on May 23.

Shaw was charged by Shamokin Cpl. John Brown with issuing a bad check in the amount of $337.35 to B&B Heating Oil on Dec. 21.

At her arraignment, Shaw can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Ryan Erlston, 22, of Steelton, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

Additional charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and criminal conspiracy were withdrawn.

The charges were filed by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano in connection with an Oct. 25 incident at 43 N. Marshall St.
