SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants who waived their cases were ordered to appear for plea court April 9 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time they can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Todd J. Kulenguskey, 41, of 526 Webster St., Ranshaw, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $150 fine plus costs. An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Kulenguskey was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem with assaulting Lauren Kiermaier at his residence Dec. 15.

n Kenneth Springfield Jr., 44, of 115 N. 12th St., Sunbury, and Jesica L. Strain, 25, of 19 W. Church St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and were each ordered to pay a $150 fine plus costs.

A charge of public nuisance filed against both defendants by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano was withdrawn.

Springfield, who is Strain's landlord, and Strain were charged with allowing household garbage to decay at Strain's residence between Nov. 8 and Jan. 8.

n Robert W. Buettner Jr., 21, of 301 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs. Two counts of simple assault and one count of public drunkenness were withdrawn.

Buettner was charged by Coal Township Deputy Chief Chris Williams with punching Leroy Wynkoop and Jenifer Wynkoop in the chest and face at 1156 W. Pine St. on Oct. 20.
