SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants who waived their cases were ordered to appear for plea court March 5 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Brandon Martz, 18, of 515 S. Market St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.

Additional charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn.

Martz was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano with assaulting Kenneth Brownwell on Jan. 6 at Martz's residence.

n Kevin L. Wetzel, 47, of 615 N. Shamokin St., Room 10, Shamokin, waived to court a retail theft charge.

He was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano with stealing three CDs from Weis Markets on Dec. 7.

n Jamie L. Strouse, 41, of 907 E. Packer St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving without insurance, driving without a proper registration card, following a vehicle too closely, failure to obey a traffic control device, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt.

The charges were filed by Trooper George Ritchey of state police at Stonington in connection with a Sept. 12 incident on Route 61 near Mangle Motors in Shamokin Township.

n Charges of theft, harassment and receiving stolen property filed by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington against Kyle J. Mirolli, 30, of 894 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, were dismissed when the victim refused to testify.

Mirolli was charged with shoving his girlfriend, Malinda Charisse Wynn, to the ground and taking her $80 cell phone at a home at 1020 W. Market St., Trevorton, on Nov. 20. The defendant had told police he shoved the victim so he could get away from her and leave the residence.

n Michael L. Krankowski, 34, of 435 W. Market St., Trevorton, waived to court charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, a lighting violation and failure to wear a seat belt.

The charges were filed by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington in connection with a Nov. 20 incident at the intersection of Routes 61 and 225 in Coal Township.

n Shauna Nahodil, 32, of Shamokin, waived to court two counts each of delivery of heroin and possession with intent to deliver heroin, three counts of criminal use of a communication facility, and one count each of delivery of suboxone and possession with intent to deliver suboxone.

The charges were filed by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano and Mount Carmel Sgt. Todd Owens in connection with incidents that occurred between Jan. 2 and Feb. 6, 2011, in Shamokin.
