COAL TOWNSHIP - An inmate at SCI-Coal Township, not yet identified by police, faces charges of aggravated harassment by a prisoner after a 3 p.m. altercation Christmas Day when he allegedly spit on a corrections officer and another inmate, Ernesto Perez, 31.

The charges will be filed by state police at Stonington.

Home burglarized

TURBOT TOWNSHIP - Earlyn Keefer, 78, of Turbot Township, reported to state police at Milton that sometime between 11:45 a.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday, someone entered his residence on Franklin Avenue by breaking a rear window. The investigation continues, police said.

Vehicle rollover

WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP - A Milton man was injured in a vehicle rollover at 9:25 p.m. Sunday on Route 579 near Starstream Boulevard.

State police at Milton said a 1997 Dodge Avenger, driven by Patrick L. Snyder, 19, of Milton, was traveling east when, while negotiating a left curve, Snyder lost control. The vehicle went onto the south berm and its right front struck a utility pole. That caused the vehicle to roll to the left, and it landed on its roof. It went back onto the road and slid approximately 85 feet in the eastbound lane before it stopped, facing south, still upsidedown.

Snyder had to be mechanically freed from the vehicle and was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was treated for injuries and released.

Police said Snyder will be cited for traffic violations.
