Police blotter 12/1/11

iPod stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old male from Coal Township has been charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with theft and receiving stolen property relating to a Nov. 17 incident at Shamokin Area Middle/High School.

Police reported the teen allegedly stole an Apple iPod Touch valued at $250 from a boys' locker room. The iPod was recovered at the juvenile's residence.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Michael L. Krankowski, 34, of 435 W. Market St., Trevorton, has been charged by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, a lighting violation and failure to wear a seat belt relating to a Nov. 20 incident at the intersection of Routes 61 and 225 in Coal Township.

Police said Krankowski refused to submit to a blood test.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. John Brown has charged Timothy L. Burkholder, 24, of 22 S. Second St., Shamokin, with disorderly conduct and a noise violation.

Police said Burkholder played music too loud, disturbing neighbors at 9 p.m. Nov. 22. Police said Burkholder had been warned twice about playing loud music earlier in the day.

Possession

SHAMOKIN - Brian Tehansky, 19, of 314 S. Coal St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko with possession of suboxone, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a Nov. 6 disturbance in the 600 block of Bear Valley Avenue.

Multiple charges

SHAMOKIN - Ronald F. Sobol, 31, of 1012 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with hit and run, unauthorized transfer or use of registration, operating a vehicle following the suspension of registration, driving without a license, a stop sign violation, careless driving and failure to provide information and render aid.

The charges relate to an accident that occurred shortly after noon Friday at Market and Mulberry streets.

Police said Sobol was operating a 1998 Jeep that struck a 1999 Pontiac occupied by Debra Reed. Police said Sobol initially stopped at the scene of the accident before fleeing when he was notified police were summoned.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Ryan Clark, 27, of 1609 W. State St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness involving an incident at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday at 322 E. Sunbury St.
