HEGINS - A Northumberland County vocalist will be among the entertainers bringing Christmas cheer to the region during a special performance on Monday, Nov. 28 at Tri-Valley High School.
Tirus Twyne, of Mount Carmel, is a member of the singing and dancing troupe, Re-Creation. The group will take the stage for a sacred concert celebration called, "Hallelujah Christmas". The program begins at 7:15 p.m. and is sponsored by the Tri-Valley Lions Club.
Although there is no fee for the public concert, a free-will offering will be collected to support Re-Creation's outreach work to hospitalized American veterans.
Re-Creation's shows present ten young performers who offer dynamic vocal renditions of America's best-loved songs and enliven the stage with intricate, disciplined dance and choreography, with music for audiences of all ages.
This year's program, "Hallelujah Christmas," will feature traditional hymns like "The First Noel," "O Come All Ye Faithful," and many more new classics and original music written by Jay and Mary Muller. (Jay Muller serves as the group's director.) Audience sing-a-longs, treasured carols and a vibrant re-telling of the true meaning of Christmas are part of the reverent, worshipful musical event.
Re-Creation, based in Port Trevorton, was founded in 1976 and since that time has performed more than 10,000 concerts in all 50 states.
Members of the performance group come from Pennsylvania and around the nation. In addition to Twyne, they include: Hillary Boysel, Ephrata; Rebecca Aclin, Glenn Dale, MD; Cherise Miller, Landsdale; Kara Erwin, Jenks, OK.; Marissa Downs, York; Ashley Krochta, Medina, OH; Jordan Nuckles, Denton, TX; Mitch Raines, road manager, Copley, OH; and Carl Vanidour, Detroit, MI.
