SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Thomas W. Martin Jr., 30, of Bloomsburg, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in a single lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, failure to immediately report an accident to police and a lighting violation involving a July 5 accident on Route 890 near Swartz Road in Zerbe Township.
Trooper Thomas Leib of state police at Stonington filed the charges.
Martin was ordered to appear for plea court Nov. 28.
n Matthew W. Katona, 21, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was held for court on a charge of aggravated harasssment by a prisoner for allegedly spitting saliva that hit Correctional Officer Theodore Benza in the face on Nov. 4.
The charge was filed by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington.
Katona was ordered to appear for plea court Nov. 28.
n Alexander K. Clayberger, 37, of 1471 Poplar St., Kulpmont, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and one count of careless driving involving a July 29 incident along Route 61 near the state police station in Stonington.
The charges were filed by Trooper Kirk Renn of state police at Stonington.
Police reported Clayberger was under the influence of bath salts while operating a vehicle.
Clayberger was ordered to appear for plea court Nov. 28.
n Dawl R. Lantigua, 19, of 17 Rock St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief in connection with a June 3 burglary at the Sunoco gas station and store along Route 225 in Zerbe Township.
Lantigua was charged by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington.
The defendant was ordered to appear for plea court Nov. 28.
