The Northumberland Deanery Council of Catholic Women held its meeting at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at Our Lady Help of Christians, Lykens.
President Rosemary Boyer called the meeting to order. The following officers were installed: Boyer, president; Norene Goehanour, vice president; Debra Gownley, treasurer; Dianne Darrah, secretary; and Elaine Jurgill, director at large.
Bible enthronement was conducted by Christina Reiner. Members were welcomed by host parish president Nora Valovage. Roll call was taken and minutes were read by Darrah. Gownley gave the treasurer's report.
The Northumberland District Commission Chairs for the next two years are: church/retreat, Sara Mirarchi; family concerns, Margaret Forbes; community concerns, Jurgill; migrant workers, Boyer; legislation, Theresa Conniff; SDA, Gownley; and public relations, Darrah.
The religious appreciation dinner will be held Oct. 7 at Masser's Banquet Hall, Paxinos. Tickets are $17.
The 25-year-and-over wedding anniversary Mass and celebration will be held Wednesday at Divine Redeemer followed by dinner at Divine Mercy Hall.
Joyce Scott is the new province director.
The next convention will be held April 11 at the Cardinal Keeler Center, Harrisburg.
The meeting was closed with prayers. Adjournment was at 2:55 p.m., followed by a luncheon.
