n Charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving were waived to court by Robert S. Burns, 47, of 5111 Upper Road, Shamokin, during his preliminary hearing on July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
The charges were filed by Trooper Thomas Leib of the Stonington barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police following an April 30 traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. along Route 125 near the intersection with Point Breeze Road, East Cameron Township.
He was ordered by Jones to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Laura Sorrentino, 36, of 218 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, waived charges of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child during her preliminary hearing on July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Sorrentino was charged by Patrolman David Donkochik of the Mount Carmel Borough Police following the investigation into an underage drinking party at her home on June 24.
She was ordered by Jones to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time she can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n A charge of making false reports to police to incriminate another was waived to court by John T. Howe, 19, of 235 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel during his preliminary hearing on June 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Howe was charged following an incident on April 7 when he allegedly told Mount Carmel Borough Police that his vehicle was stolen, but later said that the driver had permission to use the car.
Jones ordered Howe to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Kenneth M. Hunt, 21, of 22 L. Mulberry St., Apt. 1, Danville, and Andrew J. Foust, 22, of 705 Avenue D., Danville, waived three counts each of theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, and charges of criminal conspiracy and loitering and prowling at night, during his preliminary hearing July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Both men were charged by Cpl. Kerry J. Parkes of the Riverside Borough Police following an incident on June 5 when they, along with a juvenile offender, stole approximately $902 in cash, change and lottery tickets from several vehicles in the Sunny Acres development.
Both were ordered to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time they can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Zachary J. Miller, 20, of 243 W. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment in his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
He was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Matthew Dillman following a July 9 incident at his residence.
He was sentenced to a $300 fine plus court costs, and charges of simple assault and underage drinking were withdrawn in the case.
n Leroy J. Manhart, 31, of 16 First St., Wilburton, was sentenced to 12 months probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct during his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, on July 20.
Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka filed the charges after a May 28 incident at 121 Nottingham Drive, Elysburg, the home of his wife, Rebecca Manhart.
Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn in the case.
n Charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct were withdrawn against Harold E. Wolford, 42, of 424 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas, after the victim refused to testify at his July 20 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Brian Carnuccio following a June 23 incident at his residence.
n Jarid M. Spears, 20, of 348 Meadowview Circle Road, Paxinos, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia at his July 20 preliminary hearing, and was sentenced by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, to six months probation and ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs.

n David C. Small, 57, of 50 N. Maple St., Apt. 202, waived two cases to court during his preliminary hearing July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
He was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. Christopher Buhay and Patrolman Jason Drumheller following two separate incidents on May 19 where he was seen stalking a person on West Third Street, and making harassing phone calls. Buhay charged him with loitering and prowling at night and harassment after being found at the home at 3:24 a.m., and harassment and harassment by communication charges were filed by Drumheller after calling the victim several times.
He was ordered to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n James Adams, 47, of 149 E. Saylor St., Atlas, waived charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, two counts of prohibited offensive weapons, and charges of unauthorized use of automobiles, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles, misbranding of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving during his preliminary hearing July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Adams was charged by Patrolman William Adamski of the Mount Carmel Borough Police after an incident at 121 S. Beech St. on June 30.
He was ordered to appear for arraignment Aug. 22 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
