Wheelchair program closed

BLOOMSBURG - The Free Wheelchair Engineers program at the Columbia Mall will be closed the next two Mondays, Aug. 1 and 8. The usual schedule will begin again Aug. 15.

Wrestling show cancelled

ELYSBURG - The Pennsylvania Classic Wrestling Superstars pro-wrestling event, scheduled for Saturday at the Ralpho Township Gym and advertised in Thursday's edition, has been cancelled.

Churches to hold joint service

COAL TOWNSHIP - Grace Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Shamokin, and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gowen City, will hold a joint outdoor service of Word and Sacrament at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Odd Fellows Grove, Trevorton Road. The Rev. David M., Byerly, pastor of Grace and St. Paul, will preach and the Rev. David Hauck, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will preside during the service.

Participating in the service are Shelley Faust, Mary Hack and Roger Henninger, lectors; Brianna Bonshock, acolyte; Sally Yoder family, communion bearers; Beverly Deitz, Sara Yoder and Martha Wondoloski, altar care, and Roger Henninger, Jack Tobias, Ron Weller and Jeff Clutcher, ushers. Casey Henninger will be the musical accompanist.

The annual joint picnic will follow the service. The Joint Stewardship/Evangelism Committee has planned pulled pork, roast beef, hot dogs and a variety of beverages. Place settings will be provided. Members are invited to bring a side dish or dessert and lawn chairs.
