TREVORTON - The Trevorton Senior Action Center held its monthly member meeting July 7 at the center. The meeting was opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. There were eleven members present including the officers, President Edwina Savidge, Vice President Mary Ellen Hoffman, Treasurer Judie Urick and Mary Jane Bohner, advisory board member.
Secretary and treasurer's report were read and approved.
Joyce Koppen, travel committee member, reported on upcoming trips,including the New Hampshire trip set for Oct. 10 to 14. Seats are available. For more information, contact any travel committee member listed in the newsletter. Seats are also available for two Christmas shows.
Local trips, including at trip to Turbotville for lunch at The Sisters Restaurant on Aug. 17, and a trip to the Susquehanna Mall and Applebee's, were discussed.
Dates have not been set for a trip to the farmers market in Lewisburg and lunch at the Country Cupboard Restaurant and Gift Shop and a day at Knoebels Amusement Resort.
On Aug. 2, Trevorton will observe National Night Out at the Foundry, and the center will be chancing off theme baskets. Donations can be dropped off at the center daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More members are needed for the lunch program, which is an opportunity to discuss local news and past and present happenings in the community.
After the meeting was adjourned, bingo was played.
