Rainbow Club

COAL TOWNSHIP - The Rainbow Club held its July meeting at Our Lady of Hope hall. Ruth Romanoski, president, opened the meeting with the Senior Adult Ministry prayer, the pledge of allegiance and the Over 50 song.

The minutes were read by Dolly Yocum, secretary. They were approved and placed on file.

Florence Verano gave a financial report for the club and also reported on travel club activities. She announced a bus trip will be held Thursday to Hunterdon Hills to see "Summer Musical." The bus will leave the church parking lot at 8 a.m. Seats are available for the Allenbury Playhouse trip on Oct. 6.

Several members gave a health report on ill members. Dolores Van Shura is recuperating after a knee operation. Tina Blessing and Dorothy Schickley are both recuperating at home.

The Senior Adult Ministry banquet will be held Oct. 9 at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg. All clubs of the Northern Region will attend. A bus will be provided. Contact the president at 648-5848 for reservations. Deadline for reservations is Sept. 23.

Ann Koshinskie was inducted as vice president, succeeding Judy Urick, who resigned.

Eileen Janaskie won the door prize.

Winners of the 50-50 were Catherine Fenix and Pat Kroh. Bingo was played.

Romanoski closed the meeting with a poem, "Be Thankful." Refreshments were served.
