KULPMONT -The ninth annual Kulpmont Cruise will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine. All proceeds will benefit the Kulpmont Football and Baseball Association.
Joe Cesari, cruise director, expects vehicles from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware will participate.
Vehicles will travel from Seventh Street to Chestnut, where they will make a right and head east to the end of the 500-block. The vehicles will then turn around and head west on Chestnut Street. Vehicles will continue on this route 2 1/2 times and end at the Holy Angels picnic grounds.
At the grounds, trophies will be awarded and an Elvis impersonator will entertain. Food and drinks will also be available.
Cesari encourages residents living on Chestnut Street to decorate their homes to welcome the cruisers and display American flags to show patriotism.
"Let's put our best foot forward and show off our properties and community by giving the cruisers a good old-fashioned coal region welcome," he said. "Enjoy your parties and family get-togethers."
Vehicles must be moved off Chestnut Street by 2:30 p.m. The street will be closed from 3 p.m. until the cruise is over.
