KASKA - A Middleport man was jailed Saturday after allegedly hitting four teenagers with his pickup truck in a wooded area off Kaska Road in Blythe Township.

Trooper Brent Spleen of state police at Frackville said that between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday, George L. Klipola, 38, became involved in an altercation with Joseph Rolenaites, 18, of Middleport, and three 17-year-old juveniles - one each from New Philadelphia, Pottsville and Valley View.

Klipola got into his pickup truck and drove into the four teens, striking the New Philadelphia and Valley View teens, pulling them under his vehicle and running them over.

Both teens were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, for serious injuries, Spleen said.

Rolenaites was also struck but was thrown to the side, suffering moderate injuries. Spleen said Klipola also injured the Pottsville teen's arm.

Spleen said Klipola was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and other offenses and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $75,000 straight cash bail.

Spleen said the investigation into the assault is continuing and asked that anyone with information contact him at 874-5300. All information will remain confidential.
