SHAMOKIN - Angels at Work Charity will be teaming up with VNA Health System, 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin, and The Plumbing Outlet, Route 61, Coal Township, for a community baby shower Friday.

Donations will be collected at the VNA and Plumbing Outlet during normal business hours until the event. Donations may also be dropped off during the baby shower from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the VNA Health System office. The event's closing will feature food, prizes and educational materials for new and expectant mothers. Expectant mothers may sign up for door prizes.

Angels at Work has set a goal to provide help and support to 20 local families and asks the community to pull together to make the baby shower another successful event.

"The community has always supported our projects," stated Kyla Martin, president of Angels at Work.

Suggested donations are diapers, wipes, diaper bags, bottles, toys, booties, socks, pacifiers, onesies, bibs, clothing and gift cards. Larger items will be given out at the closing of the event.

Anyone willing to donate a larger item or help with the shower may contact Kathy Witcoskie at 644-7689. Donations will be given to local families in need and local pregnancy care centers, Healthy Beginnings, Home Health offices and local churches and shelters.

Angels at Work officials thanked the community for their support through the years. They also commended VNA Health System and The Plumbing Outlet for helping with the community baby shower and past events.
