Rick Shoch and Merle Phillips led the list of seven Republican candidates while incumbent Democrats Vinny Clausi and Frank Sawicki were on top of the four candidates in their party after 35 of 94 precincts were reported moments ago in Northumberland County voting.
Shoch had 1,059 and Phillips 965 votes, while Clausi had 1,028 and Sawicki 922. Kulpmont Mayor Myron Turlis was a close third in Democratic voting with 859.
