Approximately $30,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society Friday and Saturday during the 10th annual Line Mountain Relay for Life at Himmel's Church Grove in Rebuck. Although the relay fell short of its $50,000 goal, Linda Leach, senior community income development specialist for the American Cancer Society, was pleased with the new location that created a more "community-oriented" atmosphere. "The crowd wasn't great Saturday with the drizzly weather, but we still earned $30,000 to benefit the cancer society," she said. "Hopefully, next year we'll attract more people."
