Police offering car seat checks

KULPMONT - State police troopers will perform free car seat safety inspections from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Geisinger-Kulpmont, 119 Nevada Drive.

Child safety seats can reduce fatal injury by up to 71 percent, according to the National Highway Traffic Administration. However, approximately 80 percent of car seats are misused because of installation problems, or the use of the wrong type of seat.

For more information, call 373-1250, option 2, or visit www.geisinger.org/events.
