Adoption Day program Wednesday
SUNBURY - Northumberland County will celebrate its third annual Adoption Day on Wednesday starting at 10 a.m.
There will be arts and crafts, snacks and entertainment for children at the courthouse in courtroom No. 2. At 11 a.m., there will be a ceremony in Courtroom No. 2 featuring guest speakers Kip and Penny Weir, an adoptive couple along with their two adopted children, Sky and Kane. Also speaking at the event will be the Northumberland County Judge William Harvey Wiest and Jenifer Willard, administrator for the Northumberland County Children and Youth Services. The highlight of the day will be the finalization of 10 adoptions by Wiest and Northumberland County President Judge Robert Sacavage.
All 18 families who adopted in 2012 from Northumberland County Children and Youth were invited to participate.
