DALMATIA - Close to 1,200 customers were affected by a power outage in the Herndon-Dalmatia area early Saturday morning, while those in the Leck Kill had a four-hour phone outage later in the afternoon.
Teri J. MacBride, regional community relations director for PPL Electric, reported there was an equipment failure along the service in that area at approximately 6:59 a.m. Saturday morning.
"We sent out a troubleman to investigate and worked to reroute the power to make the repairs. The final customers had power restored by 8:55 a.m.," MacBride said.
In Leck Kill, the Northumberland County Department of Public Safety reported that the area lost land-line phone service at 11:05 a.m. Saturday morning. During that time, those without phone service was asked to report emergencies at Himmel's Church in Rebuck.
The phone service was restored at approximately 3:55 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
