SHAMOKIN - Central Pennsylvania's premier men's Christian choral group, Men in Harmony, will appear at Grace Chapel at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The more than 20 members of Men in Harmony all come from the southcentral region of Pennsylvania, and rehearse weekly in Millersburg, northern Dauphin County. The men's group is dedicated to spreading the Gospel through a variety of spirited musical selections, ranging from inspirational hymns to traditional songs of faith and contemporary Christian music, presented in fresh, captivating settings. The rich sound of a male chorus is a delight to behold, and one that will be long remembered.

In the summer of 2009, the Rev. Nathan C. Minnich assumed the directorship of the group, following the dedicated footsteps of the Rev. Robert Stoner, who served the group for five years, and the founding director, the late Charles Kindt, who began the group with great vision. As the group begins its 11th season, they have also gained another principal accompanist, Jane Kindt, wife of the founding director, who joins the current accompanist, Doug Troutman. The group, as it travels throughout the greater central Pennsylvania region and beyond, shares with audiences not only their vocal talent, but instrumental abilities and heartfelt testimony of their lives as Christian men.

"The uniqueness of our group is not simply the sound we produce, but it is our diversity in background, age, theology and experience. We represent more than nine denominations, span in age from teens to 80s, and yet come together on the singular unity of Christ Jesus our Lord. We encourage and welcome all male vocalists with a commitment to a Christian life to sing with us," said Minnich. Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evenings (except the first Monday of each month) in the chapel at the Polk Assisted Living facility, 301 North St., Millersburg.

Concerts are generally held Sunday afternoons or evenings, with a few exceptions. Men in Harmony is a most satisfying opportunity for Christian men to put their musical talents into service, while expanding their lives through a brotherhood of like-minded men.

This concert is not a ticketed event and is free to all who attend, with a free-will offering taken to cover the group's expenses. For more information, contact the host of this concert at 648-0372. The host church promises that the music and testimony of Men in Harmony is a great opportunity to renew your faith and deepen your love of God as you experience the ministry of this energetic choral group.
