SCRANTON - Richard Satyavrata, 20, of Coal Township, graduated from Marywood University, Scranton, with a bachelor's degree in aviation management/flight operations. He is a multi-engine commercial pilot and a certified flight instructor with licenses from the Federal Aviation Administration.
He received his degree May 8 during the graduating ceremony at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Wilkes-Barre. The Most Rev. Joseph Bambara, Bishop of Scranton, presided over the ceremony.
Satyavrata is a 2007 graduate of the Shamokin Area High School.
He will begin a master of business administration in general management in the fall at Marywood University.
He is a son of the Rev. Navin and Cynthia Satyavrata.
