Leck Kill students learn about jobs during Vehicular Career Day

LECK KILL - Leck Kill Elementary School hosted a Vehicular Career Day on Sept. 25.

Twelve vehicles surrounded the school to teach students how important vehicles are for work. Participants showed students how each vehicle works and let the students sit inside many of them.

Students learned what school subjects are helpful to be successful in the jobs that go along with the vehicles.

Participants discussed what they do on a typical day, what they like about their job, the hours they work and the education they have.

Participants included Sheriff Chad Reiner and the Northumberland County K9 Unit, Nolan Masser from Red Hill Farms, Stacy Snyder from Snyder's Excavation, Shawn Leitzel from Sunbury Motors, Dr. Joy Lenker from Sunbury Animal Hospital, Kelly Klinger from PennDOT, Brian Walshaw from Coca Cola, John Galloway from The Steven Rothermel Funeral Home, Pam Hood from Martz's Game Farm, Joshua Wiest from Koppy's Propane Inc., William Milbrand from Catawese Motor Coach and Scott Tindell from Cumberland Goodwill Ambulance.
