MOUNT CARMEL - Our Lady's Church of Mount Carmel's Council of Catholic Women and Rosary Altar Society held their monthly meeting on Sept. 6 in the parish hall. President Theresa Conniff brought the meeting to order, and it began with the council prayers and Pledge of Allegiance.
The secretary's report was submitted and accepted. Debbie Gownley gave the treasurer's report.
Theresa Conniff reported there will be a pilgrimage bus to the Immaculate Conception Shrine in Washington, D.C. Sept. 29. The religious appreciation dinner will be held on Oct. 10 at the Wayside Inn. Tickets are $15.
The next deanery meeting will be held in November at Divine Redeemer Church.
Maria Bridy gave the Rosary Altar Society news. The Rev. Frank Karwacki reported that Oct. 11 to Nov. 24 will be the Year of Faith. The bishop sent each parish goals that should be completed for the Year of Faith.
The next council meeting will be held Oct. 4 and the hostesses will be Lois Sejuit and Loretta Cuff. All women of the parish are welcome.
The meeting was closed with prayers for active, sick and deceased members. Refreshments were served, followed by bingo.
