SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants who waived their cases or were held for court were ordered to appear for plea court July 2 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, where they can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Jimmie Driggers II, 22, of 405 E. Sunbury St., Fourth Floor, Apt. 2, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.
An additional charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn.
Driggers was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano in connection with an April 25 incident at his apartment.
n Rodger R. Facer Jr., 24, of 612 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 212, Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.
An additional count of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn.
Facer was charged by Trooper Scott Davis of state police at Stonington in connection with a Jan. 28 incident at Liberty and Commerce streets in Shamokin.
n Tyler J. Griffiths, 23, of 1735 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failure to notify police of a change of address within 15 days, driving without insurance, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt relating to a March 18 traffic stop along Route 125, approximately one-quarter mile south of Burnside.
Police reported Griffiths had Delta-9 THC, Delta-9 Carboxy THC and Benzoylegonine in his blood system.
The charges were filed by Trooper Thomas Leib of state police at Stonington.
n Heather Mattingly, 32, of 804 N. Washington St., Apt. 5, Shamokin, waived to court charges of obtaining a prescription drug by using three different names and forgery relating to incidents between Feb. 15 and Feb. 24 at CVS Pharmacy.
Shamokin Patrolman Nathan Rhodes filed the charges.
n Kim Dornsife, 39, of 615 E. Webster St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs. Additional charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.
Dornsife was charged by Shamokin Patrolman William Zalinski with punching Brett Wolfgang in the face, causing him to suffer a bloody nose, outside Dornsife's residence on May 1.
n James J. Schenewerk, 44, of 314 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs. An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.
Schenewerk was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with throwing a CD at Paula Smith, which hit her in the face below the left eye, causing a small laceration. Police said the incident occurred May 1 at Schenewerk's home.
n Sheri Shurock, 45, of 601 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months. An additional charge of possession of a controlled substance was withdrawn.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano in connection with a March 22 incident at Shurock's residence.
