LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Three people were injured and two vehicles extensively damaged Sunday in a two-car crash on Route 147, approximately one-half mile south of Hallowing Run Road.

Trooper Marc Yemzow of state police at Stonington reported Briana M. Stevens, 18, of Selinsgrove, was driving a 2002 Dodge Neon south at 5:56 p.m. when she attempted to turn into a private driveway. Police said Stevens failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2000 Mazda 626 driven north on Route 147 by Dominick J. Gregory, 25, of Sunbury, causing a collision within the northbound lane.

Stevens, Gregory and a passenger in Gregory's auto, Felicia M. Renn, 21, of Sunbury, suffered injuries and were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Police said all the occupants were wearing seat belts.

A left turn violation is pending against Stevens, police said.

Both cars were towed from the scene by Paul's Auto Body of Sunbury.

Also assisting at the scene were firefighters from Sunbury, Lower Augusta Township and Herndon. The scene was cleared at 7:23 p.m.
