Train, trolley, carriage tickets on sale
SHAMOKIN - Luminary forms and train tickets for the Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts, set for Friday and Saturday, May 25 and 26, are available at Beverly's Flowers, Shuey Jewelers and Olvany Insurance, all located downtown. Trolley and carriage ride tickets can be purchased by calling Garth Hall at 648-3181.
Cemetery tour set in Hickory Corners
HICKORY CORNERS - Northumberland County Judge William H. Wiest, a historian for the Mahanoy and Mahantango Historical Society, will conduct a tour of Stone Valley Church Cemetery at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The cemetery dates to the 1700s and is one of the three oldest graveyards in the county.
The cemetery is located approximately 1 1/2 miles off Route 225 near Hickory Corners.
