Food distribution set for Saturday
MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Food Pantry will have its monthly distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Notary Shop, 215 S. Oak St., for those who have signed up.
PennDOT to hold open house
MONTOURSVILLE - The public is invited to PennDOT's open house and job fair from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the District 3-0 office, 715 Jordan Ave.
State-of-the-art equipment will be on display, including a truck with wing plow, a bridge inspection crane, a computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) system and a Retroreflectometer. District employees will be on hand to answer questions regarding job opportunities and ongoing road and bridge projects.
Acts wanted for 'Anthracite Idol'
SHAMOKIN - The second annual "Anthracite Idol" talent competition will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center Auditorium, Eighth and Arch Streets. The event is sponsored by the Lower Anthracite Regional Recreation Committee.
Acts of all ages are welcome.
