Trek of the Cross set Friday
GORDON - The 34th annual Trek of the Cross in Gordon will begin at noon Good Friday, beginning at Simpson United Methodist Church, Biddle Street. The trek will move east on Biddle Street, turn left onto Hobart Street, then move to McKnight Street and back to Biddle Street, stopping at the Methodist church for a Good Friday service. The public is invited to walk along.
Sucker Street work set today
JACKSON TOWNSHIP - A PennDOT maintenance crew is scheduled to replace a large cross pipe beneath Route 3010 (Sucker Street) today. The replacement will improve drainage along the highway.
Sucker Street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. between Upper Road and Church Road. A detour will be in effect using Route 147, Herndon Bypass Road and Route 225.
Reminder about dogs in Kulpmont
KULPMONT - Kulpmont Borough Council reminds residents that all dogs must be kept under control and leashed, or owners will be cited by borough police officers.
Also, the Kulpmont Borough office will be closing at noon on Friday, April 6, in observance of Good Friday.
