God's Chuckwagon swapping dates

God's Chuckwagon, which offers free meals to the needy, is switching its schedule starting Monday, March 19, after which it will distribute in Mount Carmel on Mondays and Shamokin on Tuesdays. Currently, it's the opposite.

The change is being made in part because Restoration Ministries is about to resume its community meal program in Shamokin on Mondays. With Chuck Wagon switching to Tuesdays in the city, there will then be three days of free community meals available for the Shamokin-Coal Township area when counting Shepherd's Table, which operates each Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Parish Hall, Coal Township.

God's Chuckwagon distributes from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the WIC building in Shamokin and during the same times at Oak and Fourth streets in Mount Carmel.
