ELYSBURG-Knoebels Amusement Resort held its eighth annual job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elysburg Fire Company Hall, East Mill Street.
Knoebels expects to hire between 600 and 800 new and replacement workers for the 2012 season. Combined with returning summer employees, this will total more than 1,600 jobs. Most positions will be in the following areas: food service, ride operations, game operations, gift shops, grounds maintenance, recycling, ticket sales, pool staff and lifeguards.
At the job fair, participants met with representatives from each department, filled out an application and scheduled an interview. Knoebels is primarily seeking workers aged 16 and older, although there are a number of positions available for workers aged 14 and 15. School-aged workers are required to have working papers when hired.
Knoebels is Pennsylvania's largest free admission amusement park and the winner of numerous park-related awards.
