The Trevorton Senior Action Center held its February meeting Thursday.
The meeting was opened with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. There were 16 members present. The meeting was conducted by President Edwina Savidge, and the secretary report was read by Robert Sager. The treasurer's report was read by the president. Both reports were approved as read.
In the absence of travel committee members, a list of upcoming trips and local trips were provided in the monthly newsletter. Anyone interested can contact Joyce Koppen at 797-3695 or Judie Urick at 648-0105 for additional information and prices, if available.
Since March is American Heart Association Month, a vote was taken to donate proceeds to the association from a bakeless bake sale. All present were in favor.
On Tuesday, the center will exercise with Amy Zalor.
On Wednesday, members will be making Valentine shirts for anyone interested in this craft.
The Valentine's party at the center will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
A trip to Lycoming Mall and the Olive Garden Restaurant is scheduled for Feb. 15.
On Feb. 17, Part 2 of the Red Cross Disaster Preparedness session will be held at 11 a.m., and a members birthday party will be held at 5 p.m. A covered dish social will take place at this party and birthday celebrants are reminded to bring cake or dessert.
Donut holes will be made at 9 a.m. Feb. 21. On Feb. 22, members will watch the movie, "Bridesmaids," with refreshments.
On Feb. 23, members will have lunch at Hannah's Restaurant in Trevorton and enjoy a trip to the Spyglass Winery at 12:30 p.m.
Members will travel to the Northumberland County Career and Technology Center (NCCTC)from 10 to 2 p.m. Feb. 24 to visit the culinary and cosmetology departments .
Sign-up sheets are available for all events. Please sign up early so transportation can be set up.
A free members breakfast will take place on Monday, Feb. 27, with bacon, egg and cheese on muffin with hash brown casserole, coffee and orange juice. Deadline to sign up is Feb. 23.
A craft activity for Feb. 29 will involve making Easter cards. Members are invited to attend a luncheon at Mount Carmel Senior Action Center sponsored and served by the NCCTC culinary department. Cost is $5, and chicken and waffles will be served. Deadline to sign up is Feb. 21.
The next members meeting will held Friday, March 2.
A motion was made to pay bills and adjourn the meeting.
