TREVORTON - The Trevorton Senior Action Center held its January monthly meeting on Jan. 5. The meeting was opened with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. There were nine people present. Mary Ellen Hoffman, vice president, in the absence of the president, Edwina Savidge, who had another commitment, conducted the meeting.
There wasn't a secretary report available, so Judie Urick, treasurer, gave one, which was approved as read.
Joyce Koppen gave a travel committee report, which includes the following trips: April 12, "Jonah" at Sight and Sound; May 24, "Salute to Our American Veterans" at Ehrharts, and Sept. 27, the Dutch Apple to see "A Second Helping Church Ladies Basement 2 Sequel." Membership dues will be collected starting Feb. 1. Anyone interested in renewing membership or in joining the action center is invited to come to the center.
The January birthday party will be held Friday. It includes baked ziti, salad and garlic bread. Dessert was provided by birthday celebrants for January.
A breakfast planned for Jan. 30 will include SOS on toast, coffee, tea or orange juice. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with these activities is welcome.
Starting in February, committee members will be selected for activities, and individuals are encouraged to sign up to help.
An evening card party is planned for Jan. 30.
Sign-up sheets are available for the following events: Lewisburg Country Cupboard and Wal-Mart, Jan. 25; Lycoming Mall and Olive Garden, Feb. 15, and lunch at Hannah's Restaurant and trip to Spyglass Winery, Feb. 23.
A motion to pay bills was made by Shirley Treon and seconded by Betty Jane Bohner.
