Condition updates
DANVILLE - One Shamokin woman was reported in serious condition Saturday and another in fair condition, their injuries sustained in separate crashes Friday morning.
Kathryn Dewees, 73, was listed in serious condition by a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center. She crashed a 2009 Nissan Versa on westbound Upper Road in East Cameron Township at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Helen Duncheskie, 55, was listed in fair condition by the nursing supervisor. She crashed a 2003 GMC Envoy on northbound Route 487, a few miles north of Elysburg, near J&D Campground, about 8:40 a.m. Friday.
Wallet stolen
GOWEN CITY - A village woman reported to state police that several belongings were stolen from her vehicle this week.
State police at Stonington said Nichole Nadine Musselman, 31, of Upper Road, said a wallet, black Fox Racing backpack and a LG Envy 3 cell phone were stolen from her locked pickup truck between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday when it was parked either at her home or at her place of employment.
1 hurt in crash on I-81
MCADOO - A Virginia man suffered minor injuries Saturday morning after crashing a minivan on an icy Interstate 81 just south of the McAdoo exits in Kline Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Philip W. Covell, 47, of Vienna, was driving a 1996 Toyota Previa north about 8:40 a.m. when, while crossing a bridge at mile marker 137.9, he lost control and traveled onto the grass median where the vehicle flipped onto its passenger side.
Troopers said both Covell and his passenger, Leanna Covell, 14, also of Vienna, who was not injured, were wearing seat belts.
Covell was transported to Hazleton General Hospital for treatment.
He will be cited for driving too fast for conditions, troopers said.
2 'serious' after I-80 crash
LIGHT STREET - A Lansdowne woman was ejected from a vehicle when it crashed and flipped Friday afternoon near the Light Street exit on Interstate 80 in Scott Township, Columbia County.
State police at Bloomsburg said Ashley V. Pratt, 22, of Alexandria Va., was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix east when she drifted onto the right-most berm while entering a left curve and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle exited the road and struck a ditch and embankment before rolling a minimum of three times, coming to rest upside down on the right berm.
Troopers said Tabitha E. Collins, 24, of Lansdowne, was ejected onto the berm during the crash.
Pratt and Collins were each listed in serious condition Saturday by a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Another passenger, Krista L. Soder, 22, of Port Trevorton, was treated and released.
Pratt was wearing a seat belt while Collins and Soder were not, troopers said.
Pratt, who has a learner's permit, will be cited for speeding, troopers said.
