MONTOURSVILLE - Mark Zenyuch, a transportation construction inspector supervisor, has been named the PennDOT District 3-0 district office Employee of the Month for December.
Zenyuch, a 29-year PennDOT employee, lives in Elysburg with his wife, Marianne, and his four cats.
He is the original "American Picker" and enjoys collecting treasures during his off-time, PennDOT reports. He is considered a master winemaker in the Bear Gap area and recently discovered the mental and physical benefits of owning a hot tub.
His superiors describe Zenyuch as a great supervisor.
"He has been very patient with teaching employees what they need to know to do the job correctly. Anyone who has the pleasure of working with Mark should be very proud, as his way of teaching is highly respected and provides opportunities to encourage questions," a PennDOT news release stated.
"When an employee is in the field, he can call Mark at any time and rely on his expertise to guide through what the concern may be. He is very knowledgeable in office work; he has taught others well in using the department's computer documentation program, filing system, finalizing projects and the correct way to fill out a field inspector's diary."
