ELYSBURG - After serving two terms as a Ralpho Township supervisor, and the past year as chairman, Ed Payeski, is leaving the board.
Supervisor Blaine Madara thanked Payeski for his twelve years of service.
"It's been an honor to serve with you," Madara said.
Payeski thanked the supervisors for their help during his time on the board.
"I've learned a lot. I've met many interesting people," Payeski said. "I'm happy to have served."
Payeski welcomed newly elected supervisor Danny Williams. Williams will be sworn in at January's meeting. Supervisor William "Chip" Wetzel was re-elected for another six-year term. Supervisors Madara, Vince Daubert and Stephen Major will continue with their terms.
In other business
Engineer Justin Keister requested that Larsen Design Group continue to provide services to the municipality. Keister told the board that although there will be a slight increase in specific alternate jobs, the current monthly fee will remain the same. Supervisors voted to retain the Larsen group as the township's engineering company.
Supervisors unanimously voted to adopt the budget as advertised on Nov. 14.
Secretary Debi Olson received word from Frank Berger, local business association, that the annual Christmas tree pickup will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7. The association asked that donations be visibly attached to the trees at curb side.
Major announced that the recycling center will be closed on Christmas eve.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, which will include the annual reorganization meeting.
