RANSHAW - Anna Pita, 86, of 209 Webster St., died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Ranshaw, Nov. 27, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Psynicki) Pita.

She was a 1943 graduate of Coal Township High School.

She was employed in the local textile industry. Most recently, she worked at Paper Magic in Paxinos, until her retirement.

She was of the Christian faith.

Anna was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching football and baseball games, especially the Philadelphia Phillies. She also enjoyed spending time with her good friends and former classmates.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen and John Pita.

PITA - Anna Pita, 86, of 209 Webster St., Ranshaw. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with the Rev. Zachary Hopple officiating. Burial will follow in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Coal Township. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
