Tax bills can be paid until Dec. 31

SUNBURY - Northumberland County taxpayers are reminded that their county/borough/township tax bills mailed March 1 can still be paid to their local tax collectors until Dec. 31. The school tax bills that were mailed out Aug. 1 are payable until Dec. 31. Postmark accepted.

When verifying if taxes are paid, ask collectors to check both duplicates. Receipts will be issued if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included with payment.

When taxpayers move, they are asked to alert a tax collector and/or local county assessment office so tax rolls are accurate.
