ELYSBURG - The monthly meeting of the Knights of Columbus Charles R. Slough Council 14161, based at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, held Nov. 9. Reports were given on several recent activities.
Breakfast was served to 108 people after Mass Oct. 16. Profits went into the scholarship and seminary funds.
Council celebrated its fifth anniversary at the 8 a.m. Mass Oct. 30. The Rev. William Haviland celebrated the Mass, and Knights served as lector, cantor, Eucharistic ministers and altar servers.
The 13 Week Club party was held Oct. 30 with 225 people attending. The Knights presented the Rev. Al Sceski, pastor of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary church, with a check from the proceeds of the party.
The Knights held a "Wine and Dine" evening on Nov. 5 with proceeds going to the Pregnancy Care Center in Shamokin. More than 100 people attended.
Knights and volunteers prepared ravioli on Nov. 7, 8, 15 and 16 for their annual sale, held after Masses on the weekends of the Nov. 12 and 19.
The annual Christmas party will be held in the Father Charles R. Slough Knights of Columbus Hall, starting at 6 p.m., Saturday. The children's Christmas party will be held in the Knights of Columbus Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
