Santa parade today
ASHLAND - The annual Santa parade and Ashland community Christmas tree lighting will be held today. The parade will begin at 21st and Centre streets at 6 p.m., move east on Centre Street to Hoffman Boulevard (about 6:20 p.m.), where Santa Claus will light the Christmas tree. Santa will then go to the Mothers Memorial, where he will visit with children and distribute treats. The parade and tree are sponsored by the Ashland Area Rotary Club.
Dornsife student part of BU colloquium
BLOOMSBURG - Seventeen Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania undergraduates, including Guy Snyder, of Dornsife, will make individual and group presentations during the colloquium, "Building a Bridge Across the Pacific: Exploring America's Role in East Asia."
The colloquium will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Fenstemaker Alumni House.
Presentations will focus on topics including U.S.-China relations, Asian students in the U.S., U.S.-Japan economic relations, trade and human rights, American products in Asian markets and a new Naval arms race in the Pacific.
