ANNVILLE - The Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Memorial Council will hold its 15th annual outdoor holiday candlelight service at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, rain or shine, at the Pennsylvania Veterans Memorial located at the National Cemetery.
The program provides an opportunity for veterans and family members of deceased veterans interred at Indiantown Gap to share memories and testimonies about their loved ones and friends.
The Rev. William J. McEllroy, Jr., council chaplain, will serve as master of ceremony. A retired United Church of Christ pastor, the Rev. Theodore E. Bowers, of Littlestown, will give the homily. A Gulf War veteran, Bowers is a retired Navy chaplain, past Veterans of Foreign Wars national chaplain and Pennsylvania State chaplain for the VFW and American Legion.
James R. Metcalfe II, cemetery director at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, and Leanna Dietrich, memorial council president, will welcome attendees.
The Rev. Dr. Frederick J. Moury Jr., of the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard, Lititz, will provide several musical selections and render "Taps. Sons of the American Legion Post 372, Columbia, will serve as the color guard.
